We are Derek and Kacey. We met through mutual friends in 2008 and began dating shortly after. Every day together has been an adventure! Derek proposed to Kacey in 2012, as she was finishing college. We wed in 2013 and have since built a strong, loving, and stable relationship. We are so excited to start a family through adoption!

We live in a small town in northern South Dakota. We are so proud to call this community our home. It is filled with excitement, but more importantly, some of the greatest people on this earth! We have always said, "It takes a village to raise a child," and there is no better village than ours! Our home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen and dining, and two living rooms. We are so anxious to soon be filling one of our empty bedrooms! Our backyard is big and open, more than ready for a child to run and play. We love our home and community and are so excited to share with a child the place we are lucky enough to call home!

Our faith is important to us and to our family. We hope to raise our child in good faith and with love, joy, compassion, and contentment. It is important to us that our child grows up knowing how loved by God they are and we hope for them to share that love with others.

It has been a dream of ours to begin a family since the day we married. We both have grown up in large families and have dreamt about adding a child to share with those families. What we didn't realize, is God's plan to create that family. We truly believe it is His hand that has led us to the choice of adoption. After struggling to conceive for over 4 years, we feel adoption is our path. Doctors offered what they could as we walked through the path of infertility. Adoption started as a thought in our minds, then became a topic in our conversations, and is now a desire in our hearts. It is our belief that adoption is not accidental, but purposeful and meant to be. Our hearts are full of love and fully prepared to provide a happy and supportive life to a child. Please know that your child has been prayed for and will forever be loved unconditionally with our whole hearts.

Life together has been the greatest journey. We have longed for years to grow our family and through that process, we have become so much closer to each other and to God. It has been an amazing 4.5 years of growing together, but we are looking forward to adding a baby to our lives!

Kacey is the youngest of 3 girls. Her parents live within 40 miles of our home and we are so fortunate to be able to spend so much quality time with family! Oddly enough, her oldest sister and her husband were blessed with 3 beautiful girls as well, and they are the lights of our lives! There are not enough words to convey the love and ever binding bond between Kacey and her family. Kacey is a First Grade teacher. She has taught for 5 years and is amazed every day by 6 and 7 year olds. The staff at the school is like a second family to Kacey. Kacey enjoys gardening, baking, reading, and any outdoor activities!

Derek is the oldest of 4, with 2 younger sisters and 1 younger brother. His parents live 13 miles from our home with their youngest daughter, and his brother lives 2 miles from our home. We have 2 nieces and 1 nephew from Derek's family, all of whom we adore. Derek's family is so full of love and  compassion! We are thankful to have them so near to be able to spend time together. Derek raises cattle with his father and brother. It is his truest passion and he devotes much of his time to this! He hopes to share this passion with his children and generations to come! Derek enjoys DIY projects, hunting, fishing, and anything rodeo!
