We're Andy and Kelsey. We can't wait to welcome a child into our lives, and we want you to know that we will treasure him or her. We really appreciate all of the thought and care you're putting into making the important decisions ahead of you, and we are thrilled you want to get to know us a bit more.
The first thing I noticed about Kelsey was how down to earth she was. When we met at her cousin's barbecue, she was busy helping out with the hosting duties. I had such a good time talking with her that I dove in and gave her a hand just to spend more time with her.
Kelsey is not one to do anything halfway. When we're on vacation, Kelsey wants to see everything there is to see in case we don't go back there again. On one trip we actually had to find a shoe store because we'd done so much walking that her shoes were coming apart.
It is so much fun to give Kelsey surprises of all shapes and sizes-whether it's a DVD from the library or repainting the living room. Either way, the result is the same: that smile that first caught my eye when we met.
Kelsey with our niece and nephews is a sight to see. Playing with children comes so naturally for her, and they love that she is so quick with a smile and a laugh. She is also great at helping them to be responsible, making a game of cleaning up blocks or showing them how to put on shoes.
The first time Andy and I met, we hit it off immediately. Andy grew up in Vermont, just like me. He was full of energy, kind, and he had a great sense of humor. He even jumped in to help with kitchen clean-up. I knew right away he was an all-around good guy.
One of the things I love about Andy is that he constantly finds the happy moments in everyday life. He's just as excited showing me the wildflowers in bloom at a nearby park as he is getting up close and personal with a camel.
Andy loves to be knee deep in a trout stream, fly fishing at dusk. He also goes running, much farther or quicker than I ever could. He's run some races, but mostly he just enjoys being out there.
I love seeing Andy with our niece and nephews. He's always very engaged whether he's reading a bedtime story in a funny dinosaur voice or teaching them how to throw a ball. I know Andy will be a great father, and we're both really excited about welcoming a child into our home.
